Exclamation Intel PRO/Wireless 3945AGB wireless adaptor help!

Ive just installed Fedora Core 6 on my laptop... and honestly its the first time im using linux... and my wireless card is not recognized... so im looking how to install it... i looked at the intel site and downloaded the driver... but how do you install it??? it gave me a 3 page file that told me to install 5 other things first, and what "install"? it looks more like cmd to me....? is there not something like setup.exe and you get ur card installed??? or do i really need to work for 6 hours on it to get it working??? can somebody help me out???

EDIT: i checked out the treads that are available about the 3945... but the problem is i dont know how to run or install anything.... so where and how do i start?

Hey Duli, that is spot on! I bet that does the trick for him!

edit: Because he is totally new to this I want to explain to dograzor that everything that is presented in the code blocks (like a quote block) in this forum should be typed into the terminaa EXACTLY as it appears. Each line means an <enter>. You can copy and paste in terminals also, big time saver. When told to do as root you need to type either
Code:
su
or
Code:
su -
depending on what you are told. then just type your root password and you are now root. You will need to be root to gedit things and to copy and paste from most files.

Hello JN4OldSchool:

Sure that did the trick for me. I had bad time configuring that wireless card (which, by he way, is natively supported by F7!!! ), but by following that instructions everything went just fine!

Hopefully he pays attention to your advice about the terminal commands. Few new people to linux realize the importance the dash (-) makes after the "su" command.

Cheers!
Duli
