lynksys wusb54gs ver 2.1 with speed booster wont work

ok so im brand new to linux realy i just installed it cos i was bored and wanted to try something new, so i install everything fantastically dispite being a complete computer tard.

basically i want to install my lynksyswusb54gs ver 2.1 and i dont know what to do i got a 'driver'

and did the

#make

but it said 'nothing to be done'

so i did the whole

#install

and it said 'install: ommiting directory'

ideas would be nice

BTW i got the driver file from
http://rt2x00.sieralmonkey.com/wiki/index.php/downloads
