Wolfenstein Enemy Territory Runs SLow

Im running Fedora Core 6 (x86_64) on an 1.8ghz AMD 3000+ , a buttload of ram, buttload of swap space, Nvidia GF3 Ti 64mb.

[MadRush@localhost ~]$ glxinfo | grep direct
direct rendering: Yes

heres the whole glxinfo: http://1t2.us/764

It's slow as crap, even with 800x600 and everything turned off. Openarena plays pretty good, though after a while the other online player movements get choppy. I haven't played Openarena since I increased my swap space.

Heres what I get when I run it and shut it down without playing a match:

Heres a long one when I play a match:

what sort of fps you getting? what binary did you use?

with my 1.2gig celeron with 400meg of SDRAM, a Geforce4mx 64meg card i was getting 40-50fps at 1024x768 at 32bit.

Oh.. what colour depth is your xorg running at? is it the same as to what your trying to run Wolf?

I found playing Homeworld that if the colour depth between the X server and the game was mismatched it would crawl!!!!!!

set everything to 16bit and see what happens?

Well, now that I've set the X and ET depth/resolutions to something same/similar I'm getting far better numbers. It's playable, depending on the onscreen action i get 10-100fps ... but usually in the area of 40

Actually it seems, inconclusively, that if i run ET at something LARGER than my X server it's .... good .. hhmmm ?
