Microphone not working

I'm usinf Fedora c6
My mothergoard has built in sound, but I'm using a pci sound card:
Ensoniq 5880 AudioPCI
Modual snd-ens1371

I've been using the speaker and there is no problem.

When I plug in the microphone, I actually hear the sound through the speakers, but the system is not getting it.

I tried with skype and Audacity.
