Hello,

I'm using FC6, sound card VIA8237 and alsa and I cannot get the microphone to work. During a test call I could hear speaking the one I called but he could not hear me. Any idea?

Thanks

Try changing from also to oss in the volume control utility (usually double click on taskbar icon). Go to files change device then try OSS. That may work. Alsa doesnot work for me in skype with my Asus motherboard.

Thanks for the answer. I'd just like to know which files you mean (something as /dev/oss?)

I meant in the volume control program go the the 'file' menu like at the top left of the window. I didn't mean an actual file.

Is the microphone input on?

If so, is the volume not on mute or low level?
