Network Performace .. changeing all the time

Hi,

FC4 with Xeon CPU file Server with 12 Drives and Hardware SATA Raid controller, updated regularry.
SMB Barricade Router, D-Link Gigabit Hub, And gigabit network controller.

SMB Server running on Linux, with a main 1.46 Tb 4drive array.
I Start a copy process to another XP-Xeon Raid array of 2 drives.

The performance goes down to 500kbytes/s .. then goes up to 32000kbytes/s then down then up ... weird.

I tought its a hardware problem,... changed almost everything and still no go.
Its the network or the Raid. But with the 3 different Raid arrays i get the same problem? Propably Network then.
(Well, the copy from the Raid to a scsi HDD goes with 1.54 MB/s atm .. so nothing is sure)


Any suggestions? I go crazy soon. .. thanx

OMG

with FTP speed is between 20000kbytes /s and 50000kbytes/sec !!!

must be SMB trouble


... damn .. weven ftp went down to 800kbytes/sec, after copying 60 GB ..
