Cannot update FC7 Test2-->Test 3

I am trying to update using yum -y update command for AMD64 machine from FC7 test 2 to FC7 test 3.

There are NO Errors & Dependency issues reported. Below is the final summary.

Install 16 Package(s)
Update 301 Package(s)
Remove 1 Package(s)

Total download size: 911 M
Downloading Packages:
Running Transaction Test
Finished Transaction Test
Transaction Test Succeeded
Running Transaction
[root@localhost ~]#

But still it is NOT INSTALLING anything. All the time package manager is reporting that i have 185 updates to go..

All the updates according to me have been downloaded already. Now why it is not installing ?

I am new in linux so please help.

Hello:
Not sure if F7 test has yum-updatesd running by defualt or not. [not on F7 at the moment]
To check :
system-config-services
then stop the service and then disable it, save your settings, exit and then try
yum clean all
then
yum -y update yum
then
yum -y install yumex
yumex is a gui front end for yum and it will make it easier for you to
remove offending packages [dependency wise] if any show up in your
whopping Total download size: 911 M update.
once yumex has been installed close the terminal and then open up another as root and do a
yum clean all
then exit and use yumex
it is located in Applications/ System Tools / Yum Extender
You also may want to consider selecting 30-40 packages at time to update. It will probably go easier.

Problem solved

My friend solved this problem

He found lot of duplicate rpm's and somehow the database got corrupted.

That is why it was not installing the updates
