Hi,

I am trying to install FC 6 32 and my displays (2) go out when it loads the x-server

i have a core 2 duo E6400, ASUS PEB-e motherboard and a 7900gt . 2 SATA drives 2 IDE DVD drives , an audigy 2 zs and a ati TV tuner.

i want to dual boot with XP.

i have tried:

and setting the display to different resolutions

any ideas

Can you get a text login ? ( ctrl alt F6 )

if so login as root then edit your xorg.conf

nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

add this section

Quote:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "auto"
ModelName "auto-detect"
Option "DPMS"
EndSection
make sure that the driver is set to vesa

Quote:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "vesa"
VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation"
BoardName "GeForce 7600 GT"
EndSection
and check that you have this section as well

Quote:
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Videocard0"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Viewport 0 0
Depth 24
Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
EndSubSection
exit nano and reboot
