Question Totem-xine wont play movie file with mp4 extension.

Hi all! I was trying to play a movie with the mp4 extension but when I do I get an error message by totem-xine stating that I need plugins for ISO-MPEG4/OpenDivx(.) Can anyone help me or lead me to resources on which I can install theses plugins thanks!!

Hello:
Normally I don't use xine, however, I fired it up and it seems to play a movie file encoded in mpeg4
So all I can suggest is to make sure you have the following installed:

Hopefully someone else can chime in and provide a more definitive solution for you.

totem
-xine-devel.i386                    2.16.4-1.lvn6          installed

I also have the codecs from here : codecs
and you can use this site as a guide to install them if you like : Stanton-Finley
It is a little dated, however the procedure is still the same.
