How to get KDE working after i have install the GNOME?
Hi
My system is fc6, and I have Gnome installed. Now i want to give a try at KDE, can I yum install the kde?

in the login screen ,click on session at bottom you will get a option there

that was wrong, should do like this "yum -y install kdebase"
or it won't find the package.
I am wondering if i need to reinstall the video card driver and edit the xorg file after I have install the KDE, all the things working normally in my GNOME enviroment.

yes lancedanece right i typed it wrong, sorry for my mistake hope i didnt cause you any problems i should have read it a bit better yes it does seem as though you need to install better video drivers, what video card do you have ? and do you eed help to install them sorry for my mistake once again

lance, install "switchdesk" also, then just use the command "switchdesk kde" or "switchdesk gnome" to change. You will still have to restart x though.

To launch KDE from the command line, use "startkde".

I would guess that after you run switchdesk, then startx will take its lead from there

That's alright, it didn't cause me any problem.
I have an ATI X700 mobility video card.

this is how i installed my ATI card should work for you
rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-6.rpm
yum -y install kmod-fglrx
and do a restart
This will also auto update you kernel to the latest version probably as well let us know how ya got on
