networking problem error 101

Hello all, im new to linux and I have encountered a problem that is keeping me from updating. installing things from terminal, logging into gaim and using xchat.

I can access the web, but not every website. I can also update from yum, but none of these other things. What will I need to do in order to fix this problem?
