Java runtime environment

I have a file with extension .jlnp, which I must run. I think this should be a Java program, but unfortunately I can't get it run. I've got Fedora 6, and according to the package manager I've got this package installed:
jre - 1.5.0_11-fcs.i586
I don't know what must I do to get the file running. Actually I don't know anything about Java. Can anyone help me?

It requires java webstart to be turned on. I can't for the life of me remember how to do it. Although if you find out please post here cause I am interested I have a few .jlnp files as well.

javaws should be installed with the jre (eg in 1.6 it's in /usr/java/jre1.6.0/bin/javaws)

and you can run the app by typing javaws appname.jnlp (not jlnp btw)

In previous fedoras there were issues with java web start, I have no idea if they were resolved
