Apache as proxy

Hi.
I have 2 IIS servers, in NLB type cluster, running at IBM Blade systems.

I want to put another machine with fc6 front of them, running apache with configuration that allows to get info from IIS servers. so I dont want that users can connect to IIS directly.

Using Squid in "Accelerator" or "Transparent Caching/Proxy" mode might be suitable.

http://www.squid-cache.org/ (see the Users Guide chapters 8 and 9)

http://www.visolve.com/squid/whitepa...verseproxy.php

# yum -y install squid

What you describe is a reverse proxy, and Squid is able to do this. It's not the normal mode of Squid. Clients will connect to Squid (as if it was a web server) and Squid will rewrite the request and send it to your IIS server. I recommend you read the links above.
