Desktop Background with Desktop Effects On

Aloha,
I was wondering that when you have the desktop effects turned on and you have the cube working, is there a way to have a different picture as the background on the 6 sides? Or 4 sides? Also, is there a way to hold the cube in rotation and take a screenshot at the same time?
