Gnome clock applet problem

I'm having a strange problem with the Gnome Clock Applet:
If I configure it to show the date it disappears from my panel -- well, it just gets invisible.
It may be because I'm a german localisation, and the March is written in german with an umlaut: März.
Therefore, since today (1. of March) I'm missing my applet (well I found it again) ...
If i open the calendar-view (left click on the time) it sais for the month "(null)" ...

So, what am I doing wrong? How can I resolve this?

Question Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is, Does Anybody Really Care?

Yes, there definitely has been something wrong with the Gnome Clock Applet since recent Daylight Savings Time change issues.

I removed it.

Now when I try to apply it again, it fails to appear. The add applet to panel window informs me that "Clock" unexpectedly quit.

I am running gnome-applets-2.18.0-1.fc7

Hi,

is it possible to make transparent the background of gnome clock applet on the panel while using the smooth gtk-2.0 engine?
