I would read through this site. It mentions using yum. To update but you need internet access to use Yum.

Only thing is go somewhere that has internet access and download the correct rpm for xmms you have and save to a cdr or flash drive. Then install on system.
Yum is an update tool using repositories to download updated and new rpm packages.
RPM is a package database tool.
