firestarter grief, cant stop using pppo dialup

help!
I recently switched from dialup to cable which uses my ethernet. But for some dumb or damn reason. firestarter is stuck on using the dialup connection to the net. Running the wizard does not help, neither does uninstalling and reinstalling firestarter.
How do I tell firestarter that it needs to switch to the ethernet card instead of the modem?
Or is there another better firewall I can use that is not going to freak out that I no longer use a modem to connect to the internet.
