Compaq WL110 wireless PCMCIA not working

This is my first shot at core 6. I installed with the wireless pluged in and the OS seems to see it but when I try to activate it I get; Cannot activate network device eth1. Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06)
SET failed on device sth1: Operation not supported
Error for wireless request "Set Frequency" (8B04) Set failed on device eth1; Device or Resource busy.

What gives?? All I want is to connect to my Linksys wireless router and be served an IP address. I all the WEP stuff set correctly but I don't know where to set a workgroup name or even if that part of the problem.

Send help (or a rope)

Mike
