"double-clicking" no longer works in some programs (Maya 8.0). Any ideas?

I recently noticed that "double-clicking" quit working in Maya (it used to work perfectly), I've done a few things that I suspect could have done it, including updating the x11 package. I've searched the message boards for "double-click" problems, but I haven't found anything. Can anyone offer me advice on the first things I should look into to fix this?

I have checked all the KDE window behavior settings as well as hot key assignments. Is there any other place where hot keys can override application set shortcuts?
