So, after using FC's 2-4 on a previous computer I decided to try core 6 for my linux distro on my recently built computer. Unfortunately, However, I am unable to install it. The installer runs extremely slowly. works ok up until the x start, and then 15+ minutes of a black screen before the welcome splash pops up. Next two menus work ok, then it hangs when I hit next on keyboard selection. Ive left it on overnight and it eventually hits the "searching for previous installations" dialog and never moves from their. Any Ideas whats going wrong? System Specs are below. I've tried booting with various install options (no usb, no apic, apci, text installer, force resolution, no probe dd for graphics card...). Ive also tried this on the i386 version, the x64 version, and the unity respin x64 version. All are the DVD versions burned at 2.4x (w/ Nero) w/ sha1 checks verified on the isos and disks checked in installer.

Not Sure whats wrong. Ive tried several live CD's and they seem to work fine(Knoppix/Unbuntu). I have an existing ext3 + swap partition I put on their in the vain hope of getting this to work, and an Acronis Bootloader installed. These HD's are Dual Booting XPPro in an NFTS Part'n w/ a Communal Fat32 Part as well.
Keyboard Just died while trying to install it. Only other thing I can think of is the DVD drive is old, so perhaps thats causing issues? It might be on it's way out but I'de rather not replace it unless I know its causing this as it otherwise works ok. (and seems to have worked ok for the other distros) (reads fine, have to manually open this sometimes.)
Sorry for the long post, just not sure whats going on here. Been banging my head against this for days, and searched through the forums here and elsewhere and had zero luck. Ide really like too stick w/ Fedora and would appreciate any suggestions you might have, thanks!
