FC6 + Madwifi + latest updates = dropped wifi connections

Hello, after getting FC6 installed recently, I setup madwifi to run the Atheros WiFi chip thats built into the laptop (I also have an atheros based Netgear PCMCIA card too that exhibits the same issues FWIW). But for some reason, I get a ton of drops with this, that no other devices have (my Palms, MacBook). Essentially it works for a bit, then drops. I can reconnect, but after a wee bit (seems to be around 1-2min of connection time) it drops. This will repeat itself till I give up. Any thoughts or tips? I am using GNOME and the NetworkManager to setup my connections.
