I like XFCE, but Thunar lacks a couple of things I need, network access and a search files function. Or maybe I just don't know how to use it.

The current release doesn't have the find function. I just use Gnome's gnome-search-tool from a button I added to the panel. In terms of Network access you are right that Thunar doesn't currently support this but it will in the next version. The developer writes about it in his blog:

I tried this "fusesmb" thing from here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...hlight=xubuntu
I skipped step 1,2 and 3 and install "fuse-smb" through yum. ..and viola! ..Thunar can browse all the shared computers. ...but when I clicked on a folder to open it I got "Failed to open directory ..." Connection timed out. ...have anyone tried this?
