root password
ok.so this is kinda urgent.i did put a password for root..yesterday it was working today it says that it's incorrect!can you help me figure it out?pleasa!thanks in advanced!

reboot, at the grub prompt hit 'a' , add '1' to the kernel parameters, hit enter to boot into a root prompt, type 'passwd' and enter your (new) password (can be the same as the old, whatever you want), type 'shutdown -r now' to reboot. All should be well
|

That must work unless your root directory or system files are corrupt.
You will probably have to reinstall, try upgrade/repair mode to keep your data intact.

lol i just installed last night  ) and didn't modify it in any way!just the regular updates to keep it safe

ok, try this, hit 'a' at the grub prompt add 'reconfig' to the kernel line and hit enter to boot up onto the inital configuration screen again, where you set root's password and add other users.
