Exclamation Yum error

So I've been trying to install some plugins forawhile now, to be specific it was the mplayer plugin so I could actually watch some dvds. First I had some different problems, but now ever time I type in the command to download something from yum, I get this CRITICAL:yum.clionfig Error: Error accessing file for config file:///etc/yum.conf. Fedora has been pissing me off lately, and would appreciate the help..

Hello:
You will have to post some more details of the problem / error that you are experiencing.
The yum command and the output of said command, for example

Hello:
Have not seen this one before ?
Do you actually have an /etc/yum.conf file ? And if so, what is the content?

Ahh, well looks like I have a yum.conf.bak file, which is blank, so you think thats the problem?

Hello:
Yes, most likely. You need to create an new /etc/yum.conf file
if you are using FC6 then here is a copy of mine you can use.
PHP Code:
[main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
keepcache
=0
debuglevel
=2
logfile
=/var/log/yum.log
pkgpolicy
=newest
distroverpkg
=redhat-release
tolerant
=1
exactarch
=1
obsoletes
=1
gpgcheck
=1
plugins
=1
metadata_expire
=1800

# PUT YOUR REPOS HERE OR IN separate files named file.repo
# in /etc/yum.repos.d
Leave a blank line at the end of the file and try to run yum again.

Hello:
Make sure that you log in as root using
su - < ------- the dash is important
yourpassword
then
gedit /etc/yum.conf
and copy and paste the details
leaving at least one blank line at the end
save, exit and give it a go again
