Just updated FC5, Mozilla replaced with seamonkey

I have just updated FC5 when doing so mozilla was replaced by seamonkey?
Has mozilla been dropped?

anyone not wishing to change should add this to /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-updates.repo

su -
gedit /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-updates.repo

add this line so it looks like this "exclude=seamonkey*"

Quote:
[updates]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Updates
baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/$releasever/$basearch/
#mirrorlist=http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors/updates-released-fc$releasever
enabled=1
exclude=seamonkey*
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora

[updates-debuginfo]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Updates - Debug
baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/$releasever/$basearch/debug/
enabled=0
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora

[updates-source]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - Updates Source
baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/$releasever/SRPMS/
enabled=0
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora
why, I find that the old mozilla will play flash better than any other browser with least CPU usage and skip.

can you play these sites ok

http://www.cbs.com/innertube/

http://www.cbs.com/ and select innertube originals

as best I recall reading on their website, seamonkey is new name for mozilla. so i guess yes, mozilla dropped, seamonkey replaces it.

Is it only a renaming? I think seamonkey is a separate project.

Mozilla development ceased at v1.7 and I think even security fixes have been dropped (last v1.7.2 was released almost 6 months ago). Seamonkey forked from Mozilla about a year ago and is now carrying the flag for a proper browser (not crap like FF).

Yes, Seamonkey is a nice browser. FF is OK, but I don't use it anymore; I prefer Seamonkey.

According to this "..we are a new project ..."

InnerTube thingy requires Flash 9 and I'm happy with macromedia.repo version (7 I think). I have no idea what I'm supposed to look at on the other site you refer but since I'm not big on online 'entertainment' nor at using my PC for playing music or videos in the first place, I doubt I'll be able to see them.

New as in 'Mozilla is dead, long live Seamonkey', either way, I'm glad they do it. I do recommend FF for all IE users though because it is 'fashionable' and easier for them to adapt to than Mozilla/ Seamonkey and at least for every one new FF user there's 1 less IE user

My main browser has been Opera since version 7 though.
