How to autoload modules at startup?

Just moved over to FC6 from Gentoo (no compiling is nice!), but I can't figure out where Fedora wants me to put which modules I want to load at boot. I tried /usr/modules, but that doesn't work. (?) I'm trying to load the i8k module (for additional dell laptop support) but it doesn't want to load. I can modprobe it just fine, just gets annoying having to do it each time I (re)boot.

I think you want /etc/modprobe.conf
