HD options in VMWare Server

OK guys, am going to start playing with this today but any advice would be apprecieated.

The problem: I now have 2 distros, PCLOS and MEPIS that will load and run in VMWare server using the ISO as a CD drive but will not install on HD. The PCLOS installer simply says something like cant find drive to partition and the MEPIS will install but it cant mount root on first boot. I have a sneaking suspicion the problem lies in VMWare using scsi as the virtual drives. But I could be way off. Any suggestions?

No replies guys? Lol, sitrep, I just got MEPIS booted by adding a HD and making it IDE then deleting the SCSI drive. Worked great. Next step, get PCLOS installed. Sure hope this thread helps someone in future...

Yes, Yes, YES!!! PCLOS is now also installed. The PCLOS install wizard really allows for no options so I thought I was screwed. OK, what I did was create a new virtual machine as usual except with only a .01MB SCSI hard drive. Then, after the machine is created edit the settings and add another hard drive. Make this one IDE and whatever size you need. Just make sure the IDE number doesnt conflict with your optical drives. Then just proceed as normal. Hope this helps any future VMWare users with this problem.
