USB stick is not mountable

Hi after inserting my 1GB USB stick my system does not take any notice of it.
I have to say yesterday i had to remove the from /var/run/ pcscd.comm pcscd.pub because my rc.sysinit showed an memory access error. Since then the usb stick does not work anymore!!!
