Wireless connection (ipw3945) dead after closing a lid

I'm experiencing quite odd problem recently with my wireless connection, using latest ipw3945 1.1.3 driver. After I close screen lid, all network transmission just stops, despite connection seems to be still active in Gnome. WiFi light on laptop's chasiss also starts blinking, like it would search for a new wireless network. Everything comes back to normal state just after opening a lid. It happens the same when I'm using both NetworkManager and WiFiRadar for wireless connection. Obviously, problem's quite annoying, especially when I want to download something particularly big over the night... :(

I'm not sure, but I think it started to occur after updating ipw3945 driver 1.1.2 -> 1.1.3 from freshrpms.net repo, and it used to never happen before. I've checked ipw3945's bugzilla, but there's no report regarding such problem, so I'd prefer to ask here first if anyone else having similar issues, or maybe problem's source lies elsewhere.

Thanks in advance for any comments on that.

I don't know if this helps, but I have an Acer with a Broadcom internal wifi card. It worked fine with the bcm43xx linux driver, except that the wireless wouldn't come back to life after a suspend. I switched to the ndiswrapper driver and now the wireless is fine, even after a suspend.
