Fedora simply rocks. . .

After having been through at least 6 different distros in the last two months (including damn small linux), Fedora Core 6, IMHO, is the simply the best distribution on the table right now. Some of the other distros that try to do absolutely everything for you often end up misconfiguring so much stuff that it's a pain in the ass just to get everything working at all. As far as ease of use, scalability, and configuration, Fedora beats everything else, hands down. . .and when I try whatever flavor comes out next, I'll undoubtedly come crawling back to the haven that is Fedora.

Fedora has always worked well for me too. I am not sure if it just the hardware I have or dumb luck .

Yum is fast, just use the -C option and update the cache nightly while your sleeping. just as fast as apt IMHO
