ieee802.11 issue

Hey there

I started experimenting with linux a few weeks ago. I tried different distributions but I believe I like fedora the most. So I installed Fedora core 6 on my Dell Inspiron 6400 with the following specs:

Inspiron 6400 Duo Processor T2400 (12 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB)
15.4" Wide Screen WXGA (1650 x 1080) TFT Display
2Gig 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM (2x1gig)
120GB (5,400 rpm) Hard Drive
Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Drive with Software
9-cell , 80 Whr Li-Ion primary battery
ATI radeon x1400 256MB dedicated
Intel ipw3945 a/b/g wireless
European - Bluetooth Wireless Network Card
Dutch - Genuine Windows XP media center

The first time I installed Fedora i managed somehow to get the wireless to work but I had to to a reinstall. Now I'm trying for more than a week to get the wireless to work again without result.
I believe the problem is the ieee802.11 subsystem. It comes with the distro but it doesn't seem to work.
When I try to install an ieee80.11 subsytem i get error messages.
What should i do, please advise.
Please take note that I'm not a linux expert but I learned the basics in the meanwhile.

I solved the issue myself by digging in the previous topics here.
