FC6 Problem with Line Out to TV
Hello everyone,
I'm having a bit of a problem with my sound and running a line-out to the tv. Basically sound doesn't work if I run line out to the tv. If I instead plug in headphones, the sound works perfectly. It's not the TV or cable, as this works fine during the initial soud test during Anaconda installation. It is only later, after the install that the sound stops working completely.
I am using the onboard SiS sound card, with ALSA. Everything should be the latest update from either the standard fedora repo's or atrpms.
I'm trying to use this tv as a mythtv box, so sound through headphones just isn't going to cut it.

Does your sound work in apps other than mythtv?
EDIT: So are you saying when you run the install, you use your TV as the speakers and the sound test works then?

Yes, in general the sound works for everything, mythtv and all other apps, but only when I have headphones plugged in. If I remove the headphones, plug my 3.5mm Stereo -> RCA cable into the same jack and hook it up to my TV, the sound no longer works.
During the installation, the sound test worked when I had it hooked up to my TV.

Are there any differences in the mixer settings when you listen through the headphones and connect to the TV?

Are you plugging you sound output to the TV into the headphone out or speaker out jack on your soundcard?

It basically works the same on all output jacks on my computer. Rear headphone, front headphone, and rear speaker. Sound works fine with headphones, but no sound to TV. I don't change anything, simply unplug one cable and plug in the other.
Most recently, i've hooked up my stereo system and that works fine (same 3.5mm->RCA cable that would go to the tv)... so for now I think i'm just gonna give up and run sound through the stereo. I still would like to figure out what's going wrong though.
The only other thing I could think of is that the TV only has a single mono sound input, but things seem to work fine for the stereo if I only plug in one part of the RCA cable so who knows.
It still seems odd to me, as this all works from the Anaconda soudn test, but once everything is installed and updated, it just stops working.
