Angry Problems with soundcard ADI1986a

I have motherboard ASUS P5LD2 SE with integrated audio ADI1986a.
I installed Fedora Core 6. But it does not play any sound. When I use ALSACONF it finds HDA-intel card. Then i turn on all channels in alsamixer and reboot. But i still have only silence

I have found the answer elsewhere:
in /etc/modprobe.d/sound append "model=laptop" after "snd-hda-intel"
And in KDE Control Center click Sound System, select device "OSS" and write "model=laptop" in Other Parameters. Sometimes you'll have to turn off and on sound using KMix.

PS. I am using standart Desktop PC.
