Problem Configuring Internet Connection via Router

Hi. I'm new in using Fedora. I'm using the first version(i think) Fedora Core 1 and i gived up whit configuring the internet connection. till i had a connection trough a server, there was no problem. now we changed the server with an internet router and now i can't configure my connection. I use a RealTec RTL 8139/810x Fast Ethernet NIC (if it helps)

Fedora core 1 is outdated , they have just released Fedora 6 if you can get a more upto date version you will find network setup is easier and supported hardware is better
you will also be able to download updates . Fedora 1 , 2 & 3 has no update support

The problem with FC% that I am facing is that it has suddenly stopped coneecting to LAN. How can I reset the IP settings so as to mend this
?

if your ip is dynamically assigned (i.e. u r using DHCP), then use "service network restart". This will get u a new ip address.

If u r using a static ip address, then make sure that ip-address assigned to your lan card is in the same network.

I have a similar problem, but on fc6.

a router, that works fine when I dual boot to windows, and not in FC6, firefox works, and ping does, but not yum, email, IM, or anything else that I've tryed (sept firefox as I said)
