tilde printed as `

I have a following problem: I'm unable to write the tilde (a little wave) character as it gets printed as ` (accent carachter). Any ideas? I am using FC6 and Polish keyboard layout.
Regards, Andrew

Sounds like the polish keyboard map is faulty have you tried selecting the qwertz layout.
