I am trying despritely to get an USB ATI remote control to work on FC6. There are 2 different ways
apparently. One, the kernel modules (like ATI_Remote.ko), and two using lirc.
I can get the remote working great with included kernal module, however it is missing some of the buttons i.e. the "OK" button does not work, and will not read anything when I run xev. I am new to Fedora so I am not a wiz kid regarding compiling things. Can anyone give me a step by step "how to" to fix that problem?
If that is impossible, I also tried using lirc 0.8.1 included in FC6. There is a lot of good info on how to get it working this way also, however, I am stuck at one spot. If I follow the directions
here I get stuck at the part where I am to test by typing irw. It won't read any input from the remote, but running mode2 works fine. The lirc site says I need to recompile my driver, but it seems like other users have no problem with the same driver. My guess would be that I have a config issue. Can anyone tell me how to handle that?
I don't care which way I go, I would just like a remote.
