Unhappy Can't get any music notation software to work

I keep trying and trying several different music notation programs, but none of them will work. The problem is when I ./configure, they all tell me I don't have a recent enough version of Qt. I do however have 3.3 something and they only need 3.0. So, I'm guessing they're looking in the wrong place. How do I fix this? I have looked and came up with nothing as far as finding a decent music notation program as a package. It would be much easier if I didn't have to compile. If anyone knows anything, I would appreciate it very much. I am a music major in school, and I only have a linux box, so I have to figure this out.

You may not have to compile.

Rosegarden is available for FC6. Simply run
Code:
yum install rosegarden4
