Windows Media Player files on FC6
Hello Dear,
I want to run Windows Media Player files like .wmv on Ferdora Core 6 ( FC6 ). How can i do this? Is any video player available for this purpose? Can Real Palyer 10 play on FC6.
Can Real Player 10 or Helix Player run Windows Media Player files .wmv
Please help me

Try this...The file you download has changed, therefor some of the commands will have to change to reflect the new file name but the process still works.

mplayer is real easy to setup and use...worked well for me to play all windows videos that I had.

Hello !
Real Player is not the same as Windows Media Player. You need to install xmms for mp3 files, be sure to get the codec. To see wms files install mplayer with the codecs. I have both im my system and they are working quite well. Visit http://bordeaux.freshrpms.net/, there you can get most of them. Visit mplayer and follow the installation for FC5. Real Player get the rpmfile to install. If you are usinfg FC 5 remouve the Helix Player.

Try installing w32codec from ATrpms.
