I am able to install common and client package fine but while installing server (samba-3.0.23d-1.i386.rpm ).I get following error
error: Failed dependencies:

did you install via yum or samba site?

everything you need to get it running is in the fedora repos and accessible via yum

dump the rpms you downloaded you do not need them

as root:

PHP Code:
yum install samba
That should install samba and all nescessary files for you.

if you want webmin you can throw that in as well.

Another option would be to run pirut and search samba

Your grub.conf is not correct. You will find it in your /boot directory (or /boot/grub)

I also had those articles on my site but have since removed them looking at doing the rebuild...

THere is some insight on this issue found here: http://fedoraforum.org/forum/showthr...ight=grub.conf

Thanks again.I reintslled it fine without the package selection.i.e customize it later setting.
But facing another problem.I can not install any software.I get header error when I try to use installer if I use Yum it says another copy is running existing lock. How to remove lock on yum?

Alos on Fc disk 1 I see two 586 kernel rpms rest are all 386 kernel.Do I need to replace the 586 to 386 if so whats the procedure.

Please advice at your earliest convenience.
Thanks and Regards

That is one issue I think they need to fix. If you run pirut, pup, and or yum they all will process lock yum. They should instead get in line and handle the trasactions in order.

I believe the lock can be removed by:

rm -f /var/run/yum.pid
