internet connection

I have just installed Fedora and during the installation I was not given any option to set up an internet connection.
The computer is connected from a D-Link router via a cat 5 cable to the onboard lan.
Can anybody give me some simple instructions on how to set up my internet connection as I have never used Linux before.
The other computer connected to the router is a XP home one which works with no problem.

run the System Tools -> Internet Configuration Wizard and setting up for an xDSL connection or cable connection, i use dsl and in order for me to connect i have know primary and secondary DNS numbers

Instead of xDSL, try configuring a Ethernet connection with System Tools > Internet Configuration Wizard. Click forward. Hopefully your card will be autodetected. If not, select other and try to find something familar. When you get to the network settings, choose dhcp and be sure that 'Automatically obtain DNS information from provider' is checked. Next, Apply. Now the D-Link box should give your network card an IP number.

Imdeemvp & Jman thanks for your replies but I still cannot get it to work.
The Lan is onboard not a card.
The computer is a ShuttleSGN45 with a N-Force 2 Mobo and onboard lan.
Any other suggestions?.

Ok, nvidia motherboard. In that case you will have to install drivers. Nvidia's page is here. Also see the readme.

Nvidia doesn't build for Feodra, but rpm.livna.org does. They are down at the moment, but there is a mirror. Update your kernel to the latest (yum update kernel) then get the appropriate kernel-module-nvidia rpm. Run

uname -p

to see what processor type to get. Then download, change to root, and install:

su -
rpm -ivh <rpm filename>

Disclaimer: I don't have nvidia.

I have the same MB. Here is what I do. Download the source RPM from :
http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/n...0-0261.src.rpm

rpm -ivh NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0261.src.rpm

go to /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/

rpmbuild -ba <spec file name> (can't remember what it is)

This will build a kernel specific RPM for the nvnet driver. If I remember correctly, this will automatically install it as well. If not, the RPM is located in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/(arch)/
