How to change Thunderbird to be the default email client

I have FC-5 and use KDE.

In version 1.5 there is a place in Preferences that lets you set Thunderbird as the default email client. But in later versions (1.5.0.8) that ability isn't available, apparently. How would you set whether or not Thunderbird is the default email client in version 1.5.0.8?

In KDE, go into the Control Center > KDE Components > Component Chooser > Email Client
