nVidia CK804 AC'97 no sound in FC6

Recently installed FC6 but my sound card isn't detected using the automatic sound card detection under System | Administration. It is listed there but fails to produce system beeps, or any sound at all. Are there updates, packages, or extra drivers that I need? i've never had a problem with this card until i installed linux FC6. I am on FC 6 64 bit and have a nVidia CK804 AC'97 Audio Controller.

Make sure nothing useful is muted in Volume Control, also there may be another device listed under File>Change Device make sure things aren't muted there either, there's a lot of options that aren't shown by default so sometimes you have to go to Edit>Preferences and check the ones you need.
Also under Sound card Detection where it lists your device PCM Device is there another option ? Because I have two options for the same device one works the other doesn't.
Sorry if you've already gone over this but if your card is recognized then that's usually where you can find the problem.

Hey thanks for the reply!

Unfortunately, I checked an un-muted and every possible pref under Volume Control, i still can't get a sound from anything. Under PCM, there is another device listed: CK804 IEC958 - i selected this and tried all prefs as well to no avail. The sound card test under System | Admin. still won't produce a sound. Any other ideas?

Not really hopefully someone that has this soundcard will tell you how to get it going.

The only thing I can tell you is if you haven't updated your install yet you should do that. I could be wrong but I think updating to the latest kernel added some options for sound that weren't there before for me.
If no one responds you can always compile your own kernel to make sure you have support for that soundcard built-in, if it does come to that search the forum, you should come across some how-to's and links.
