Text support dissapeared after up2dating

Hi, I'm really confused about this
I installed Fedora Core 1 on my sisters' computer and then, I made an up2date.
When it finnished downloading and installing the new packages, 89 in total, I did not have text support anymore. I mean, I could see the icons but not the text. I could not write anymore.
Conclusion, I have to reinstall Fedora again.
After I finnished reinstalling, I made again an up2date, and after the installation of the new packages, I did not have text support anymore !!! Again, I could not see the text in Fedora, it just dissapeared, conclusion, I have to reinstall Fedora again.
It happened to me 5 times in the same day, I can install Fedora perfectly well, but when I make an up2date, the text support dissapear, I can't see any text.
Does anybody know something about it, could this be a bug?
I'm really confused 'cause it never happened to me before.

And I'm really confused because I don't understand what you're talking about.
gonzalo76,
text support in/for what context? You say:
"I mean, I could see the icons but not the text. I could not write anymore. "
icons for what and can't write where?
Maybe I'm a bit dense but you'll need to be more specific on what you mean.. :o

For example,

I can see the icon of my home directory on the panel, but has no text saying "gonzalo's home".

I only see images, windows, but not text, words, caracteres....

Ok, I think I know what you're saying now. But you still didn't specify things right: You said
"I can see the icon of my home directory on the panel, but has no text saying "gonzalo's home". "
But I'm pretty sure you mean text under the icons on the desktop right? Because there's not supposed to (nor do I think there can be) text under the launchers on the panel.

So, maybe a setting has changed. To check, go to Preferences -> Menus & Toolbars and make sure "Toolbar Button Labels" is set to "Text Below Icons".

mhelios, when up2date finished updating my system, I restarted my pc. GRUB screen appeared right, there, I chose Fedora. When the 'log in' window appeared, it appeared without text under the icons and without text at all, I could not write anything and of course I could not start my session.
Conclusion, reinstall. But this happened 5 times to me. Never happened before.
Thanks mhelios for your reply. I thought that maybe this happened to another user.

Could be the XFree86-4.3.0-55 update the problem?

Greetings

Well, first, I installed XFree86 and glibc packages separately from the rest of the available updates. Then I installed the rest of the packages and this time, thanks GOD, everything went right.
Thank you mhelios for your reply.
Greetings.
