Angry Impossible to install in graphical mode

Hello,

I have a problem with FC6 installation. I can't get grapical mode to work.
I've already tried this on two different computers, and the same thing happens on both.
In general, my monitors are out of sync, as soon as anaconda is trying to enter graphical mode. No matter what optional parameters are used. I've been trying: lowres, resolution, noprobe, nofb, acpi=off, apm=off; but none of these seems to change anything.

I've installed linux in text mode, but it is far less comfortable, especially when I have to reinstall system few times a month (development).

The same problem occurs after installation, when the system is starting-up in graphical mode.

Ah, and one more thing: I've never experienced such problems in FC4/FC5

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards

Hello:
If you have it installed try adding some Modes to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
For example:
PHP Code:
    SubSection "Display"

Viewport   0 0
        Depth     16
        Modes
"800x600" "640x480"

EndSubSection
Then try startx

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
Actually I have configured X properly, so it is working like a charm (including all effects) [livna drv].
The problem is that when the system is startin-up in graphical mode (5), the screen goes out of sync, and exactly the same problem occurs when I try to install in graphical mode.

Best regards

Hello:
Okay, well .. you could try adding to your kernel boot line in grub
mode=vesa
See if that helps

I never tried this option, but due to the fact that my system is currently randomly hanging-up (total lock-up), tomorrow will be a good occasion.
Thank you.

Best regards
