FC6 FTP install

Hi guys,

Believe it or not i have no DVD disks atm after downloading FC6 x86_64 DVD ISO.

What i've done is extracted it to a local NAS server that runs ftp and have commenced an FTP install. My fedora install can connect the the ftp server and load the first installation files however, soon after the Welcome to Fedora Core 6 Setup, i get an error about
"Can not Read repomd.xml".

I've tried replacing these files. Any ideas guys?

Thx.

i know you can do a network install, never tried it though so i cant help there, but you could possibly try a local harddrive install

I've thought about it but havent been able to get it to work for some reason. I think fedora doesn't like my windows NTFS partitions.

Make sure that you copy "all" of the files from the FC6 DVD (or ISO file) to the FTP server. Chances are you have copied just the Fedora directory over to the FTP server and that no longer contains everything that you need to use.

I install exclusively at home and at work from the network. NFS at work and FTP at home.

Hi

I've checked i'm extracting all the files. To further define my error I get this exactly after I enter my system clock timzone:

Can not open/read repomd.xml file for anaconda-base-200610172015.x86_64

Any help would still be great guys.
