Merging Hard drive partitions.

I had SUSE 10.1 earlier on my laptop. when I installed it, I had hda1, hda2 (windows partitions), and SUSE created hda5 for swap, hda6 for system files, and hda7 for normal storage. Now when I removed SUSE and installed FC6, It was installed on hda6 by default and hda5 was made a swap partition, but hda7 was not used. I can mount it, but I would like to merge it with hda6 all in one drive.
Do you recommend a safe way to do it? I don't mind losing any data on hda7.

Download a copy of the gparted livecd and boot with it. Delete hda7 and resize hda6 to the full extent of the free space you just created. In this case, no need to modify fstab.
Anyway, consider the possibility of using hda7 as a separate partition for your data, in case you want to reinstall the system on hda6 preserving your personal files. The / directory doesn't need much space (15 - 20 Gb are more than enough) and you can mount hda7 anywhere you wish.
