Hey ... here's my network:
4 Computers: Fedora 6, 2 XP home SP2 and 1 XP Pro SP2
all have 10/100 onboard ethernet, except one of the XP home SP2 has 10/100/1000
router: Linksys wireless and 4 wired - 10/100
Ok network performance from my computer Fedora 6 (samba) to and from others is terrible and is limited to 1.7MB/s (transfer a file from samba to/from XP computer)
HOWEVER, say to and from the 2 Win XP home computers its about 10MB/s (that is ... transftering a file to/from one XP to another XP system)
(theoretical limit of 12.5MB/s or so -- 100/8)
so what's going on? is there some SAMBA setting i need to correct, or something else like a kernel bug (possible i suppose)
