Post Fedora FAQ for FC6: Coming Soon

Hey everybody! I just wanted to let you know that I do plan to update fedorafaq.org for Fedora Core 6. I'm getting a new computer that's both 64-bit and dual-processor, and I'm going to install FC6 on that when it arrives, and then update the FAQ.

It should also allow me to add some information for 64-bit users, and for dual-processor users!

In the mean time, feel free to contribute any ideas you have for new questions that would be good for the FC6 FAQ!

Thanks, Max - we're all looking forward to it and the 64 bit additions will be welcome.

Awsome. I have to say that I am waiting to install FC6 until fedorafaq.org is updated. As a compliment to you, fedorafaq.org just makes life (and doing a clean install) a little easier.

    Thanks,

    Joe

Thanks a lot! Fedorafaq is VERY useful, mainly for new users like me! It makes the migration easier for people. Great job!
    Cheers!

Definitely cannot wait, one of the most if not the most useful resource for Fedora Core users, especially for beginners like me. Would have been a lot more frustrating without it. Thanks for your hard work.

Another thank you from me. Your site is what let me get far enough with FC5 to make it viable for me. Looking forward to getting the same functionality with FC6 as I had with 5. Thanks for your work. Its much appreciated.

Hey everybody! Wow, thanks for all the positive stuff. :-)

@giulix: The machine will be my personal machine, so I can't give out shell accounts. :-)

BTW, Max, even though the Spammers are no longer with us, they all thought enough of the News to give their support too!

Also any information on multibutton mice like the logitech mx1000 and mx revolution would be helpful as well to users.

i just installed fc6 and thought "jees i could do with fedorafaq or stanton-finley" i couldn't even find documentation on freshrpms, dries, macromedia repo's, i had to figure it out from fc5's settings.

my suggestion would be to put in big red capitals "dont install xen", jees what a mess the xen kernel made of my box, barely enything worked until i removed it, i guess it's similar to the i586 problem.

don't forget the nvidia fix of putting the config.h back to get past the compile errors (and 9629 doesn't work on the gf420go, but 8776 does) i think that fixes vmware server tioo.

rt2x00 still doesn't seem to work, it compiles but doesn't seem to like system-config-network or networkmanager, so for ralink wireless stick to rt2500

what's the status of playing dvd's in xine now - i know a recent update on fc5 broke xine-lib so you had to use a nonfree-extras package from livna

there still seems to be some problems with yum mirrors not working, and hey, i thought yum had been made faster, mine's slow as hell

boot up is quicker though, and gaim2 is nice, and nice to have beagle working properly.
