Terminal problem

Im a very very new user i only installed Fedora Core 6 a day ago so i dont know much about it.

Well anyways to the problem im having is im trying to run commands in the terminal to install apache and MySQL and other related software but it keeps saying i cant because im not root.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appriciated....

You can switch users in on the command line with the "su" command. So type "su -" and enter the root password when prompted. Then you will have root access to do whatever you need to do.
