USB Card-Reader does not work

Hi everybody,

I spent 1 day, tring to get my USB card reader worrking (223a Standard Microsystems Corp. 8-in-1 Card Reader)

I tried different things I found on forums or tutorial, but No way, I can't read my CF or MS Pro Duo.

When the card is inserted, nothing appears in dmesg.

I tried to restart hald with the card inserted (CF here) and get the following error in dmesg

Code:
SCSI subsystem initialized
Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
usb-storage: device found at 2
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
usbcore: registered new driver usb-storage
USB Mass Storage support registered.

scsi 0:0:0:0: scsi: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery

Does someone have an idea ?

Are you able to mount/read regular usb keys, pendrives, whatever they're called?

Unhappy Oooops...

Oooops...

It appears to be hardware related

I didn't start checking the hardware because this is an integrated card-reader.
As the PC only has FC6, I had to take apart to test the reader.

This reader doesn't read my MS Duo Pro under Window XP...
It's not able to format the card too
CF is ok, but I need both.

Well I think, I'll be back when I'' buy a decent card reader...
